LOCAL RETAIL × ONLINE SHOPPING × INTERNATIONAL NETWORK

Connecting local businesses with the world of online shopping.

A connected shopping and merchant network links local retailers, restaurants and hotels with online shopping. From its established markets in Germany and Austria, the community is expanding, especially in South Tyrol and Italy. Customers can benefit from purchases they would make anyway, while businesses build visibility and lasting relationships.

700.000

Customers in the network

The project team reports approximately 700,000 existing customers, mainly in Germany and Austria. This is the stated starting point for the network.

Italy focus

A model established in Germany and Austria is being expanded with a particular focus on South Tyrol and Italy.

40m

2027 expansion target

Our ambitious goal is to build a connected shopping community of 40 million customers by the end of 2027. This is a target, not an achieved result or a guaranteed forecast.

Turn a restaurant visit into a lasting relationship.

A visit can become the beginning of a connected customer relationship: cashback for guests, local visibility and potential additional rewards from eligible external purchases where the programme permits.

Examples of online merchants identified by the project: Amazon, AliExpress, Temu, Adidas, Lidl (online offers), Ab-in-den-Urlaub.de and SIXT. Availability and cashback terms depend on the country, merchant and current offer. Mentioning them does not imply a direct partnership with HJO CONSULTING.

A multi-channel expansion strategy – from local communities to international reach

Hotels & tourismEvents & experiencesClubs & associationsRetailers & restaurants

We connect local retail with online shopping and reach new customer groups through hotels and tourism, events, clubs and associations, local retailers and restaurants. Each channel can introduce more people to a participatory shopping and merchant network built on mutual support.

700,000 customers today · Target: 40 million by end of 2027

The figure of approximately 700,000 customers is reported by the project team. The 40 million figure is an ambitious growth target for 2027, not a guarantee or independently validated forecast. South Tyrol and Italy are an immediate focus for expansion.

One connected network for online and in-person purchases – bringing customer benefits, stronger local businesses and new partnership opportunities.

Cashback, merchant rewards and association funding apply only to eligible participating offers under the relevant terms. No income or business outcome is guaranteed.

How it can work

The bill is paid. The customer relationship continues.

Customers dine with you, then shop elsewhere. A shared network can extend the relationship beyond one visit.

Multi-utility does not require selling unrelated goods in your restaurant. The program may compensate certain eligible, attributed external transactions under its terms.

For guests, cashback comes first; for businesses, loyalty, reach and possible new revenue routes matter.

8 compelling benefits for your business

Greater visibility, closer customer relationships and new opportunities in a connected shopping network. These eight building blocks show what such an approach could mean for your business.

01

More visibility. More customers. More revenue potential.

Someone in your city may be looking for exactly what you offer, yet discover a competitor first. Local discoverability, timely offers and a shared shopping network can help new customers find your business.

02

Stronger loyalty with real-value cashback

Reward eligible purchases at your business with cashback where supported. Customers gain a tangible reason to return and can use the same app for participating online shopping offers.

03

Additional earnings beyond your premises

The relationship does not have to end at your checkout or when guests check out. A connected rewards model may compensate businesses for eligible, attributed purchases made by acquired customers at other participating merchants, online and offline.

04

More options during challenging periods

A broader network of customers and participating businesses may provide additional opportunities even when in-store traffic falls. Such earnings are never guaranteed during disruptions, closures or quieter periods.

05

Simple, real-time marketing

Publish offers, news and cashback campaigns and communicate with customers through available digital tools. Subject to feature access, these tools can complement everyday workflows and make marketing more efficient.

06

Fast onboarding with personal support

Install the app, set up your business and establish the basic process. Under straightforward conditions, initial activation may take around 5–10 minutes; personal contacts and, where available, AI-assisted support can help with ongoing questions.

07

Connect promotional spending to actual sales

In sales-based cashback models, an agreed benefit is generally triggered by a qualifying completed purchase rather than an ad impression. Always check current fees, premium features and the local tax treatment of these costs.

08

Multi-Utility: one app, many industries

A customer discovers the app in a bakery, hotel or restaurant, then later buys clothing, technology, travel or groceries from participating partners. Your business does not sell those products itself; it may benefit from the connected network under the applicable remuneration rules.

The principle

Win the relationship locally. Stay connected beyond the front door.

From a local shop to a digitally connected business: one app can bring together shopping benefits, digital loyalty features, customer communication and cross-industry offers. Actual usage, participating partners and contract terms matter – not promises of automatic lifetime income.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I benefit when my customers shop elsewhere?

A connected model may provide compensation for certain eligible, attributed purchases at other participating local merchants or online stores. Amounts and duration depend on current terms; not every outside purchase qualifies.

Does Multi-Utility apply to bakeries, hotels and restaurants?

The cross-industry principle can be relevant to different businesses. A customer acquired on site may use the app elsewhere; any compensation depends on attribution and remuneration terms.

Is it free to join, and does setup really take five minutes?

A free starting option may be available, but promotions, premium functions and fees must be checked. Basic setup can take about 5–10 minutes in straightforward cases, or longer for complex setups.

Is cashback always 100% tax deductible whereas discounts are not?

That blanket claim is not reliable. Tax and accounting treatment of cashback, marketing costs and discounts depends on jurisdiction and structure. Ask your tax adviser to review the actual terms.

LOCAL RETAIL. SHARED GROWTH.

A network that supports local retailers and entrepreneurs

Rather than competing alone for attention, local businesses can support one another. Shared digital customer relationships, personal referrals and potential benefits from qualifying external purchases may be part of the model, under its applicable rules.
